Born in 1947, John studied art and graphic design at the Gordon Institute in Geelong. It the late 60's Corio and Geelong West councils commissioned John to paint two large murals (5.4m x 15.2m).

John's professional career commenced in 1970 working in advertising and marketing in Melbourne. In 1975 John and his wife Glenda moved to Geelong where he established his own business John Wood Advertising & Marketing (JWAM).

His Passion for painting seascapes and landscapes eventuated on 2000. John's work evokes and embraces the intrinsic elements of the environment, from fine detailed painting to free flowing semi-abstract works.

John resides in Anglesea.
